5 Neuroanatomy Youtube Channels For Anatomy Study

BY NEUROCIRURGIABR

YouTube channels for learning about anatomy.

  • Armando Hasudungan: Armando has one of the most popular anatomy and physiology YouTube channels. I really rate his videos because he integrates the anatomy, physiology and pathology all in one. And when he explains the anatomy, he draws the structure bit by bit, which really helps to easily associate form with function.
  • Kenhub: Now, I’m a little biased as I work for Kenhub and write a lot of our YouTube video scripts, but I believe our channel is one of, if not the best for anatomy. You’ll find everything from the basics e.g. terminology and directional planes to the skeletal system, to neuroanatomy, to helpful videos on how to study anatomy and even fun videos like “What would happen if your spine had no curves?”. The Kenhub YouTube channel has over 400 videos, but the actual Kenhub website contains a whoooole lot more, as well as a huge atlas, articles and quizzes.
  • Dr Najeeb: Another super popular YouTube channel for anatomy and physiology. Everything is drawn out step by step on a whiteboard, which is great for understanding a topic bit by bit.
  • AnatomyZone: These videos use 3D anatomical structures. It’s great being able to see a structure from multiple perspectives. Sometimes the tone of the videos are a little bit slow and dull depending on the narrator, but it teaches you what you need and it does it pretty well, which is the important thing!
  • The Noted Anatomist: Although the illustrations are a little bit clip-arty and inconsistent in terms of style, these videos are really well explained. The narrator has a great manner for teaching and keeping you engaged. Perhaps best used as a supplement to a platform or channel with more realistic looking illustrations, like Kenhub (probably the best you’ll find online) or a highly regarded anatomy textbook like Gray’s or Netter’s.
